What is the one thing that everyone needs to know about you? Briefly introduce yourself…

I’m a Brazilian designer named JP. Former Webflow brand designer. a dude who loves technology and design.

My journey started in 2002, during the early years of the internet. I started building websites with Flash because of my love of both design and technology, which gave me access to the world of digital design. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of working with some of the top digital firms in the world, gaining priceless experience and honing my abilities.

I eventually moved to California to work as a brand designer for Webflow as a result of my quest of greatness. I became a recognized authority during my time at Webflow and helped to redesign a number of important features, including the Designer, CMS, Editor, and Interactions pages. I put a lot of effort into giving Webflow’s users a simplified and user-friendly interface so they could make websites with a professional appearance more easily.

After a while, I decided to pursue a career as a Webflow developer and designer. Thanks to my knowledge and experience, I can now assist customers all around the world in attaining their creative goals. Additionally, I’ve been able to make a good living because to my Webflow templates, which have helped me sell more than $3.5 million worth of goods in only one year.

In addition to my work, I also like sharing my wisdom and expertise with others. I enjoy educating new designers how to utilize Webflow so they can establish themselves as successful freelancers and provide them the tools and resources they need to further their careers.

Along with my professional attitude, I value being physically active, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my family.

Could you explain where your love for webflow came from? Why do you like this instrument best?

When I first saw Webflow in 2013 during its beta testing, my connection with the platform officially began. At the time, I wasn’t happy with the conventional design process, where I passed my concepts off to programmers and frequently wasn’t happy with the results. That’s when I saw Webflow’s potential and how it might help me design and code concurrently, giving me total control over the finished output.

My bond with Webflow was solidified at that moment, and I have used the platform almost daily for the past ten years. I’ve had the wonderful pleasure to work with a variety of clients throughout this period, produce a lot of personal projects, sell templates, and help companies revamp their web presence. I’m happy of the effect my work has had because of the flexibility and adaptability of Webflow, which has allowed me to bring my concepts to life in ways I never imagined.

I can say with complete conviction that my experience with Webflow has changed my life. I’m thrilled to have had the opportunity to use this amazing tool to have a positive influence on the field of digital design, and I look forward to pushing the boundaries of what is conceivable in the years to come.

Tell us about your beginnings and how you grew your staff.

One of the most exciting projects I’ve ever embarked on is building a team! I’ve always been passionate about entrepreneurship, developing things that have an effect, and taking a more practical approach to business as a designer. I never saw myself running my own business or overseeing a sizable staff. I found that these ideals were not necessarily shared by the conventional design community, but this never stopped me from working toward my objectives.

On April 19, 2019, I spoke with Sarah, my protégé, and that’s when it all started. She told me about her career aspirations during that phone call, and I knew right away that she would be the best friend for me. She immediately accepted my invitation to come along on this adventure with me.

I then looked for a Webflow developer, and after interviewing a number of people, I found Allan, an old friend who would be a great addition to our team. As soon as Sarah and Allan joined the team, we started offering Webflow development services to a range of Silicon Valley clients. The accomplishment of these projects strengthened our faith, and we made the decision to introduce Fixflow, one of our Webflow efforts.

When you surround yourself with the proper people, starting a team may be one of the most fulfilling experiences you’ll ever have. Our team works really well together, and we all contribute different skills to the table. I am really grateful to have found such capable and motivated people to go with me.

Since you just released Fixflow, which just blew our minds away, could you maybe give us a little rundown of what it is and how it works?

I got the chance to research the industry and have a full understanding of the challenges template purchasers and designers face as a previous brand designer at Webflow. This experience motivated me to enter the template industry, where I used my knowledge to create a cutting-edge plan that was incredibly successful. I shattered records for sales, engagement, sharing, and recognition, and customers who bought one of my templates asked for a lot of small-scale editing and correction work.

After seeing the demand for low-cost, high-quality Webflow projects, I established Fixflow to fill the gap between the perfect template and the technical challenges faced by buyers on a tight budget.

Fixflow is dedicated to bringing productivity, innovation, and efficiency to the Webflow industry by expertly handling technical concerns at a fraction of the cost. Fixflow allows customers to focus on selecting the template that best fits their needs while being certain that the difficult tasks will be completed with accuracy and care.

My team and I am confident in our capacity to offer top-notch webflow services because to my expertise as a brand designer and industry awareness.

How long did it take to deploy Fixflow? How many team members took part in this…

I’ve put a lot of work into studying the market and finding growth prospects. Through this study, I discovered a need in the template market and created Fixflow as an addition to our current Webflow offerings. Our main goal is to keep providing clients all around the world with outstanding design projects and cutting-edge images.

We had a ton of interest as soon as we unveiled the first version of Fixflow, which took around six days to create from the basic concept to the present website. Bookings and projects continued throughout July as a result. The team at Fixflow is made up of seasoned experts, including Sarah B., the customer success manager, myself as chief designer, and Allan R., the front-end developer. As per usual, I’m looking to expand our dynamic team of experts by hiring at least two or three designers with experience in branding, creative direction, and Webflow.

What areas of focus would you advise newcomers interested in Webflow to focus on?

Anyone new to Webflow should pay special attention to the following areas to create a firm foundation:

Understanding the core building blocks of web design—HTML, CSS, and JavaScript—is necessary for utilizing Webflow efficiently.

Learn how to utilize the Webflow user interface: To increase your productivity, familiarize yourself with the Webflow tools, panels, and capabilities.

Considering design best practices and concepts Concentrate on design concepts like layout, typography, color, and balance to produce aesthetically appealing designs.

Testing different templates and layouts: Test different templates and layouts to see which functions best for different sorts of assignments.

To showcase your expertise and draw in possible clients or employers, create projects and add them in your portfolio.

Keeping up with the newest trends and advancements: It is crucial to be updated and adapt to new trends and technology since the web design market is always changing.

You may become an educated and skilled Webflow designer by concentrating on the aforementioned main topics.

Is there a particular webflow project you are excited about or proud of, and if so, why? What happened in the past?

Yes, I’m quite proud of the work I’ve done on Webflow’s primary feature pages, especially the Editor, Designer, CMS, and Interaction pages. These pages’ creation constituted a turning moment in my professional life because I left Webflow after working on them to start a freelancing career in my home country.

Working on these programs allowed me to gain essential experience. My design philosophies has been affected by the significance of concentrating on content, branding, performance, and business objectives. I still remember these lessons because working on these pages gave me a clear understanding of what it takes to create powerful and effective methods.

The background to these projects is an emotional one for me because they mark a turning point in my career and the start of my journey as a freelance designer and digital entrepreneur. I had to deal with a pandemic and other difficult circumstances along the way, including the birth of my first child and my wife becoming unexpectedly pregnant again a few months later. I regret not being able to mark the debut of these pages since I received a lot of unfavorable comments.  I thus wear these wounds as a badge of honor.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to work on these projects and for the knowledge I’ve acquired. I’m even more motivated to keep building on this foundation as I progress in the field of web design.

Do you have other areas of expertise besides web design, Fixflow and your amazing Webflow templates?

My family’s needs and my health are currently my top priorities. It is both satisfying and difficult to run businesses and look after young children. I work more wisely as a result rather than harder. This indicates that I’m exerting a lot of effort to work less but more effectively. When we return to the country, we want to take our innovative strategy to the Webflow industry in order to grow our company. I am really proud of my team and everything that we have accomplished, and I’m always looking for ways to improve and grow our company.

Version 2 of Fixflow, a more capable platform that will provide customers all the tools they need to advance their webflow activities, will be released soon.  As we move on to the next phase of our journey, I can’t wait to see how our clients’ webflow projects will be impacted by this updated platform.
